The Weight: The Band

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFqb1I-hiHE My Commentary: In my opinion, The Bad is arguably one of the greatest band names of all time. Their music backs up that opinion. They're really good. The first time I heard this song, it was actually covered by Drew Holcomb so I didn't actually know who performed it, but when I heard listened to the original, I immediately fell in love. It is such a simplistic song, which makes sense for a band which played behind Bob Dylan. The simplicity really adds to the weight of the song, no pun intended. Anyways, this song is timeless and is worthy of the of the status of classic.

Fix You: Coldpay

Their technicalities, their showmanship, their musicianship were all on display in full force. The song that still sticks out to me three weeks later was Fix You. The power they had with them when they hit the bridge. The energy Chris Martin had during the bridge, it was unbelievable. The entire crowd was giving them energy and they were going off of it. Fix You is one of my favorite Coldplay songs. I love the contrast between the beginning portion and the end portion. It is such a rich song. I included a live version because I think it is important to appreciate the energy and joy the band gives off during this song.
